Dr. Raul F. Ortiz-Umpierre
Dr. Raul Ortiz-Umpierre was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's university in 2005. He started at Stuart Anima Hospital in 2007 and has since bought the practice from Dr. Katz in 2015.
Dr. Ortiz has also received his acupuncture certification through The Chi Institute and China's National Society of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. He integrates traditional medicine along with Chinese medicine for treatments of different ailments.
Dr. Ortiz is married with 2 wonderful boys.
Stuart Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary practice in Stuart, FL specializing in small animal health care. We also offer a holistic approach incorporating nutrition, herbal medications, and traditional Chinese acupuncture. The Doctors and Staff of Stuart Animal Hospital recognize, honor, and nurture the special and unique bond between the pet and the owner. Dr. Headrick was born and raised in Florida. She started volunteering in the vet field at the age of 11. After graduating from high school she obtained her AA from Brevard Community College. She then attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2001.
After graduating from Vet school, Dr. Headrick moved to Northern Virginia where she joined a small animal practice for 3 years. She then moved to Virginia Beach to work and be closer to her twin sister. In 2011 she decided to move back to Florida. During that time she was engaged, then married that November which brought her to Jupiter.
Outside of work Dr. Headrick enjoys horseback riding, relaxing at the beach, going for nature walks, and riding her bike. She has two french bulldogs (Bitty and Louie), and two mammoth donkey's (Bridget and Miss Mick).
